In 1969, Charlie opened his sandcast studio in Ocean Beach, California, producing sandcasts of all shapes, sizes, and subject matter and perfected that art form.

In 1974, he was joined by his son Rolfe, and for the next 26 years they produced a staggering body of work that includes large wall-mounted casts, smaller works, sculptures, and prints. Sadly, Charlie died in 2000, leaving Rolfe to continue their legacy in a newly refurbished studio. America's best loved sandcast artist continues to create works that have made them number one. 

You may be familiar with the large architectural sandcast sculpture commissions installed in over 70 Great American Savings and Loan branches here in San Diego and elsewhere throughout California. Other castings can be seen in Anthony’s restaurants, in over 30 Chart House restaurants around the United States and in other business locations. The subject matter usually reflects the local geographical area and its unique history.
Smaller sandcast sculptures are now being offered to the general public. They depict many different subjects and designs.
